Why do they call it the Arbutus Triangle? Let's start with winding roads that curve and twist around Spider Lake, Arbutus Lake, High Lake, Chandler Lake, Tibbets Lake, then veer over to Indian Lake, Vandervoight Lake and finally over to Rennie Lake. When you add in at least seven roads containing the name "Arbutus", navigating the Arbutus Triangle can be difficult, at best. Although people can spend hours driving around learning about this area, no one ever complains because it is one of the most scenic areas of Traverse City and Northern Michigan
